Jason Atherton started out working alongside great chefs including Pierre Koffmann, Marco Pierre White, Nico Ladenis and Ferran Adria at el Bulli, before joining the Gordon Ramsay Holdings in 2001 and launching ‘Maze’, first in London and then another five globally.
Jason left Gordon Ramsay Holdings in 2010 to launch his own restaurant company, Jason Atherton Ltd. His flagship restaurant ‘Pollen Street Social’ opened in April 2011 in Mayfair and was awarded a Michelin star within just six months of opening, alongside 5 AA Rosettes and no.3 in The Good Food Guide’s best UK restaurants.
Since then, Jason’s ‘The Social Company’ has grown into a globally renowned restaurant group, with a portfolio of restaurants which include the Michelin-starred City Social, as well as Social Eating House, Little Social, The Betterment and Berners Tavern – named ‘the defining restaurant of the decade’,
Alongside his London restaurants, Jason has also opened critically-acclaimed restaurants in Shanghai, Dubai, St Moritz and his Michelin-starred restaurant, The Clocktower, in New York.
Jason has written four cookbooks, appeared on several TV programmes, and is a brand ambassador for a number of brands including Moët & Chandon and Audemars Piguet Savoir Faire.
Jason and his wife Irha support numerous charities, including Hospitality Action, JDRF, the MSY Charitable Foundation and the David Nichols Spinal Injury Foundation.

We are looking for an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager. The Social Company has 16 sites across the world and is constantly growing, making this an extremely exciting and important role. You will work closely with Jason and Irha Atherton and be responsible for all communications across the whole portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for developing a well-balanced, brand strengthening annual sales and marketing strategy in line with company objectives.
• Coordination & delivery of campaigns to support the restaurants, including seasonal events, brand pop ups and new openings and partnerships
• Work closely with Jason and Irha Atherton to create an effective budget for all marketing campaigns.
• Work closely with Jason and Irha Atherton it maximise Jason’s profiling opportunities.
• Bringing in new business opportunities through partnerships, event sponsorship and
ambassadorships
• Contribution to commercial targets on footfall, online traffic, bookings and revenues with
accountability for delivering targets on specified components or campaigns.
• Assisting with the reporting of weekly/monthly/seasonal performance against KPIs and proposing
ideas to improve results.
• Work closely with the marketing executive to ensure all marketing activities are communicated
effectively and are in line with the overall marketing strategy.
• Work closely with the marketing executive to create and deliver a digital marketing strategy and
content.
• Manage the company’s PR agency and communications strategy to achieve maximum results and
ROI.
• Work closely with the reservations and events team to support their sales initiatives.
• Be the main lead for all local marketing contacts to include concierge and local businesses.
• Organise all print marketing materials and allocated budgets.
• Organise and manage all company photoshoots.
• Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company personnel are kept
informed of marketing activities and objectives.
• Analyse, activate and nurture potential strategic partner relationships for company marketing.
• Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against
goals
• Analyse consumer behaviour and adjust marketing campaigns accordingly
• Contribution to growth and vision of business
• Involvement in ad-hoc project work
• Preserve the reputation of the business
The Social Company provides consultancy services to businesses within the hospitality sector, as well as providing services to upmarket contract caterers and private dining and corporate hospitality events. We also project manage and run new restaurants in association with hoteliers and entrepreneurs.
Social Company restaurants and bars are not clones of one another. Each one has its own identity and characteristics. There’s no set template. We work with interior designers and architects restaurant by restaurant, bar by bar. There’s no single ownership structure. Sometimes, we set up in partnership with hoteliers and other businesses, sometimes on our own.
COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIPS
The model is a joint-venture project; there’s a synergy between us and our partners and a shared commitment to creating something great – with its own unique identity, recognisable by its values rather than its corporate brand. When we help a hotelier or other business open a venue we ‘second’ a team of key personnel to the project.
